Pornhub ends Premium Viewshare program, tries to placate models with one-time cash bonus
Former tube site heavy-hitter Pornhub has responded to the backlash against their retroactive earnings adjustments by adding one-time bonuses to model payouts in February as part of January earnings. Bonuses will be determined by averaging Modelhub and Viewshare earnings in October and November 2020 and paying 50% of that amount. For examples and more details on the bonus, please visit the Pornhub blog.
Pornhub has also announced that, effective immediately, they are removing Modelhub videos from Pornhub Premium. Pornhub Premium is a subscription service that gives members 2 main benefits: no ads on free videos, and access to paid Modelhub videos that performers have chosen to include in the Premium Viewshare Program. This is a huge hit for both customers and models. Viewshare income can be a high percentage of Pornhub earnings for Verified Amateur performers, and was a big part of the perks of the Premium membership. Members who pre-paid for several months, years, or even lifetime access to Pornhub Premium have not received any indication that their payments will be reduced or refunded, and while Pornhub has assured models that “[we] are committed to ensuring this is only a temporary setback for Premium and Modelhub”, there is still no timeline for a return to normal service.
