Closing site decides to charge models to download content from servers
Following its closure announcement, IndieBill has informed models that they will have to pay to retrieve content from the site’s servers. There is a flat $100 fee, plus $10 per 100MB of content–an amount that could quickly add up to hundreds or thousands of dollars for models who used IndieBill to sell videos. It’s unfortunate–and indefensible–that IndieBill is holding content hostage, but it serves as a cold reminder to save (and back up) your content locally, and not to trust that you will have access to a site to download your own work should things go sideways.
Shout out to @indiebill for telling me I have to pay a flat fee of $100 plus a reoccurring fee of $10 for each 100MB in order to get my own content back despite them already taking a cut from each of my sales.
Thanks for holding my content hostage you vultures. pic.twitter.com/ZEiNXJTCJJ— Robin Le Fay 🔥Don't Stop Protesting🔥 (@RobinLeFay) October 14, 2020
